MOTORISTS SHOULD EXPECT DELAYS ON I-81 SOUTHBOUND IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY

STAUNTON – (1:30 p.m.) Backups equaling approximately five miles on Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 195 are occurring due to a vehicle accident. This location is at exit 195 at Route 11 in the Lexington/Timber Ridge area. Both southbound lanes are closed at the accident site. Traffic is being detoured off I-81 at exit 195 and re-entering I-81 at exit 195.

No estimate for reopening the lanes has been provided by the Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Operations Center.

Motorists should drive with caution and expect delays in this area.
