I-81 CRASH CLOSES ALL NORTHBOUND LANES JUST SOUTH OF STAUNTON
STAUNTON – A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 81 located south of Staunton in Augusta County has closed all northbound lanes. The accident location is at mile marker 207, which is between exit 205 at Route 606 in the Raphine area of Rockbridge County and exit 213 at Route 11 in the Greenville area of Augusta County.
The Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Operations Center reports that a medical helicopter is being called to the scene. There is no estimated time when I-81 lanes will be reopened.
Motorists should expect significant delays in this area.
The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
