I-81 NORTHBOUND REOPENS IN FREDERICK COUNTY
STAUNTON – All Interstate 81 northbound backups In Frederick County are now clear. Earlier this afternoon motorists experienced extensive backups on Interstate 81 northbound due to a crash that occurred on the I-81 northbound lanes in West Virginia. Backups extended up to nine miles from the West Virginia and Virginia state line on I-81 northbound.
The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week.
