ROUTE 602 IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY TO HAVE BRIDGE WORK

STAUNTON –  In Rockbridge County Route 602 (Walkers Creek Road) will have a bridge replacement project which will close the road at the bridge location.  The project extends from .05 mile south of Route 724 (Jump Mountain Road) to1.15 mile west of Route 731 (Dutch Hollow Road).   

The closure will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 21 and is scheduled to be closed until approximately Thursday, Oct. 13.

Motorists can detour the work zone area by using Route 724 (Hayes Creek Road) to Route 252 (Brownsburg Turnpike) and Route 602 (Walkers Creek Road) to Route 39 (Maury River Road).

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
