BOTH NORTHBOUND LANES CLOSED ON I-81 IN SHENANDOAH COUNTY
STAUNTON – (2:30 a.m.) Both northbound lanes of Interstate 81 are closed at mile marker 266 in Shenandoah County due to an incident with a tractor trailer.
Traffic is being diverted onto exit 264 (New Market) to Route 211 eastbound (West Old Cross Road) to Route 11 northbound (Old Valley Pike) to Route 730 westbound (Caverns Road) and back onto I-81 northbound at exit 269 (Shenandoah Caverns).
No estimate for reopening the lanes has been provided by the Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Operations Center.
Motorists should drive with caution and expect delays in this area.
