The VDOT Staunton Traffic Operations Center reported at 3:04 p.m. that a southbound tractor trailer ran off the interstate and struck a utility pole. Downed power lines have prompted emergency crews to close both sides of the interstate. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.
