ONE LANE CLOSED ON INTERSTATE 81 SOUTHBOUND IN SHENANDOAH COUNTY
Crews Removing Tractor Trailer, Repairing Guardrail

STAUNTON – The right lane of I-81 southbound near mile marker 281 in Shenandoah County is closed while crews remove an overturned tractor trailer and make guardrail repairs. The location of the work is between Woodstock and Edinburg.

The Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Operations Center reported that the tractor trailer crashed through the guardrail on Thursday morning and went down an embankment.

The truck removal and guardrail repairs are expected to take several hours. VDOT plans to have the right lane reopened before 7 a.m. Friday, August 30.
