PORTION OF ROUTE 220 IN ALLEGHANY COUNTY CLOSED SEPTEMBER 30 TO OCTOBER 2, 2013
Drainage Pipe Replacement Work

STAUNTON – Virginia Department of Transportation will close a section of Route 220 in Alleghany County beginning on Monday, September 30, at 8 a.m. through Wednesday, October 2, at 8 p.m.  The purpose of this closure is to replace an existing drainage pipe.

The work zone is located 0.04 miles north of Dunbrack Road (Route 684), north of Covington.
This section of the road will be closed to all traffic.  

All non-commercial vehicles will detour via Jackson River Road (Route 687) and Falls Hollow Road (Route 640).  Commercial vehicles will not be allowed on this detour and will be directed to Routes 42 and 39 during the road closure.

All work is weather permitting.
