STAUNTON (7:15 P.M. UPDATE) – The Virginia Department of Transportation has reopened Route 33 (Rawley Pike) in Rockingham County, which had been closed due to an accident at the intersection of Route 733 (Dale Enterprise Road) west of Harrisonburg.


The accident just before 1 p.m. involved a vehicle that struck a utility pole. Downed power lines have been removed from the area and the road reopened to traffic.


The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
