I-81 DELAYS SOUTHBOUND IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY DUE TO TRUCK CRASH

STAUNTON –  (2:30 p.m.) A dump truck carrying fertilizer crashed and overturned along Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 193, north of Lexington in Rockbridge County.  Crews are in the process of cleaning up the area but anticipate it will be later this afternoon before debris can be totally removed and the truck up righted.

Motorists currently are experiencing over six-mile back-ups.  Delays should be expected in this area throughout the afternoon.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
