DAYTIME CLOSURES ON ROUTE 991 IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY AUGUST 12 – 14
STAUNTON – Part of Route 991 (Jacob Burner Drive) in Rockingham County is scheduled to be closed 7 a.m. to 5 pm. daily from August 12-14, while contractors perform soil and rock testing for a future bridge replacement. The work zone is at the bridge over Stoney Run, about a half-mile south of Route 996 (McGaheysville Road).
During work hours, signs will direct Route 991 on these brief detours:
- Drivers approaching from the south will detour east on Route 641 (Cave Hill Road), north on Route 649 (Island Ford Road) and west on Route 996 to the end of the detour.
- Drivers approaching from the north will detour east on Route 996, south on Route 649 (Island Ford Road) and west on Route 641 (Cave Hill Road) to the end of the detour.
All work is weather permitting.
