BOTH I-81 SOUTHBOUND LANES OPEN IN ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY
STAUNTON – (10 a.m.) The right lane of southbound Interstate 81 has reopened in Rockbridge County. Crews have finished a hazardous-material removal operation near mile marker 204, about a mile south of exit 205 (Raphine). The materials were contained within a tractor trailer at that location.
Both I-81 southbound lanes are open, but traffic is currently backed up about four miles and will take some time to diminish.
