MULTIPLE VEHICLE CRASH CLOSES ALL SOUTHBOUND LANES ON I-81 NEAR LEXINGTON

STAUNTON – All southbound lanes are closed on Interstate 81 at mile marker 185 in Rockbridge County. This location is between exit 188 at Route 60 near Lexington and Buena Vista and exit 180 at Route 11 near Natural Bridge and Fancy Hill. Southbound traffic will detour off I-81 at exit 188 and will renter I-81 at exit 180. 

Numerous vehicles are involved in this crash. The Virginia Department of Transportation Staunton Traffic Operations Center does not have an estimated time to reopen the lanes.

Motorists should expect significant delays in this area.
