Adopt-a-Highway: Fairfax and Loudoun Highway Segments
The Virginia Department of Transportation is testing a new feature that allows you to view satellite images showing both highways available for adoption and those that have been adopted.
We are piloting this feature in Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
This technology uses Google Earth. To use it, you must install the free Google Earth program, available here.
Then, download the desired location folder:

Step-by-step directions:
- Save the selected zipped file on your local machine.
- Unzip the .klm file.
- When you select the .klm file, it will open in Google Earth.
