Between the Waters Bike Tour

Location: Cape Charles

Date: Oct. 27, 2007

Description: The Between the Waters Bike Tour is a sustainable ecotourism event, giving riders the opportunity to see the beauty of our rural area.

Routes are flat loops winding along back roads, providing scenic rest stops on both the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic seaside, with views of marshes and barrier islands.

The tour is a creation of Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore, a non-profit organization working to support balanced growth while enhancing our quality of life and preserving our natural resources on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

The tour begins and ends in Cape Charles. There is a free fun ride Friday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. with tour guides. The Eastern Shore Oyster Roast is good way to complete the 2007 Bike Tour. It’s on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 6 -8 p.m. The cost is $30 per person. This is a special rustic experience: lots of oysters, crab dip, local chowders, soft drinks, beer and good conversation.
