Ride in the Heartland
Location: Charlotte County
Date: Sept. 22, 2007
Description: Ride through the rolling countryside of Charlotte County, hunting grounds of the Saponi tribes and home of:
- Gov. Patrick Henry in the 18th century
- Congressman John Randolph in the 19th century
- Ambassador David Bruce in the 20th century
Ride on our own "century" or "metric century" bike routes, or choose from shorter "family" rides.
The ride includes:
- Meals
- Rest stops
- Support and gear (SAG) assistance
- Optional camping spaces
All routes are marked and on paved roads. Routes include the Red Hill National Shrine (Patrick Henry's home) and the Staunton River Battlefield State Park.
There is a new Sunday morning route through beautiful rolling countryside.

Event: 10th Annual Cannonball Century
Location: Curtis Memorial Park, Hartwood
Date: Sept. 30, 2007
Description: Choose from beautiful rides of 35, 62 or 100 miles through the rolling hills of central Virginia. The event features great rest stops, an optional t-shirt with pre-registration and a free post-ride lunch.
