What's Being Done

Road widening for the third and final phase of the Route 460 widening in the Grundy area is underway.  Be alert to the possibility of delays and pay close attention to flaggers in the work zone.  

Project Background

In February 2011, the Commonwealth Transportation Board approved the $23.3 million contract to construct Route 460 Grundy Phase III widening, a 1.18-mile section extending from Route 615 to Royal City.  The contract was awarded to Kanawha Stone Company, Inc., Nitro, W. Va.

The Route 460 - Phase I project in Grundy was completed in summer 2009.  Work began in spring 2009 on Route 460 - Phase II, which is scheduled for completion in September 2012.

Benefits

Widening of Route 460 in the Grundy area will complete the four-laning of Route 460 from Claypool Hill to Grundy.
