What's Being Done
Preliminary engineering is currently underway for the Route 83 – Lover’s Gap project in Buchanan County, which will reconstruct a section of Route 83 located near the intersection of Route 718.A public hearing was held for the project on June 5, 2008 at Russell Prater Elementary School. VDOT's Chief Engineer approved the design plans for the project September 12, 2008.
Right of Way acquisition is scheduled to begin in December 2008. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2011.
