What's Being Done
Replacing the bridge downstream from existing bridge over the Rivanna River south of the Town of Palmyra.
Benefits
Will replace bridge in declining condition with new, wider bridge with shoulders to accommodate bicycle traffic and allow for sidewalks.
Features
Formed concrete on the piers will give the look of old stones which will be tinted to look like the rocks in the river.
Impact on Traffic
Traffic will continue to use the existing structure until construction of new bridge is complete. Occasional delays are possible due to equipment moving in and out of work zone.Page last modified: Oct. 14, 2012
