What's Being Done
The City of Charlottesville is developing the design of an interchange for the future intersection of the U.S. 250 bypass,McIntire Road and McIntire Road Extended. The project is now in the right of way phase, which includes the acquisition of right of way and easements as well as the relocation of utilities affected by the project. Project Updates
$25 million for construction of the interchange is included in the federal surface-transportation reauthorization legislation, signed into law by President Bush on Aug. 10, 2005.A project steering committee was recently created.
