Project Purpose
This project will replace the Route 655 (Tinpot Run Lane) bridge over Tinpot Run just east of the town of Remington. The current bridge is a steel beam, timber deck structure that was built in 1960. The bridge is in overall poor condition and is posted for a 13-ton weight limit.
What is Proposed?
The new bridge will be built of pre-stressed concrete beams with 10-foot-wide travel lanes and a 10-foot-wide shared-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians on the north side. Curb and gutter will be added to Route 655 through the project limits.
The project will also realign the intersection of Route 655 and Route 1201 to improve safety.
This section of Route 655 carries approximately 1,100 vehicles per day.
