This project will fund an expansion of a Park & Ride lot to be built on Route 630 (Courthouse Road) in Stafford County, east of a new diverging diamond I-95 interchange at Exit 140.
An expanded Park & Rude lot with slightly more than 1,000 parking spaces will be built.
The existing 545-space Park & Ride lot on Courthouse Road will be closed and relocated as part of the I-95/Courthouse Road Interchange Reconstruction and Courthouse Road Widening project.
The interchange project had intended to replace the existing 545 parking spaces, but this Smart Scale project provides funding to expand the new lot by 500 additional spaces.
This Smart Scale project is fully funded through construction.
Commuter parking of 545 spaces will be available throughout construction of the interchange project. Temporary parking will be available in the vicinity of Exit 140 until the new Park & Ride lot opens.
