Robert O. Norris Bridge Concept Study
Lancaster and Middlesex
Kelly Hannon, VDOT Communications Manager
About the Study
As the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans for the future of the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River, it determined more information was needed regarding possible options to replace the bridge's superstructure or replace the bridge.
The results of this study provide VDOT and the region with an up-to-date set of options to replace or rehabilitate the Norris Bridge. The options are supported by a site-specific engineering analysis that considered how traffic management during construction would affect the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula communities.
Each option is accompanied by a price estimate using 2017 dollars.
