Main Street Lane Closures: March 5-23, 2018

Beginning on Monday, March 5, construction work will close a single lane of Route 14 (Main Street) in Mathews County on weekdays between Church Street and Buckley Hall Road to allow crews to install new drainage pipes underneath the road.

A flagging crew will direct one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone. Single lane closures are anticipated to be needed for three consecutive weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect brief delays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Main Street on the following scheduled dates:

  • Monday, March 5 – Friday, March 9
  • Monday, March 12 – Friday, March 16
  • Monday, March 19 – Friday, March 23

Message boards are posted near the work zone to notify motorists of the upcoming single lane closures and the potential for travel delays.
