Project Description

This proposed turn lane extension project on Route 301 northbound and southbound at the intersection with Bennion Road and Owens Drive, near an entrance to the Naval Support Activity South Potomac at Dahlgren will extend several existing turn lanes on Route 301 northbound and southbound.

The project  will  provide additional storage capacity and relieve congestion on the Route 301 through lanes in the vicinity of the naval base.

Construction will include extending the left turn lane and right turn lane on Route 301 southbound at the intersection of Bennion Road and Owens Drive.  The project will also extend the left turn lane on Route 301 northbound at the intersection.

Notice of Willingness - Expires July 7, 2018

If your concerns cannot be satisfied, VDOT is willing to hold a public hearing. You may request that a public hearing be held by sending a written request to Mr. Nate Huber, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 87 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405 on or prior to July 7, 2018. If a request for a public hearing is received, notice of date, time, and place of the hearing will be posted.
