What's Being Done

Project number 0630-089-140,C503. Courthouse Road is a paved secondary on rolling terrain. The existing grade and alignment is not satisfactory to carry the existing traffic volume, which was 6,290 vehicles per day in 1995. These volumes are expected to nearly double to 11,630 vehicles per day by the year 2012. This project was designed and originally scheduled to be built by the County. They recently requested that VDOT administer the construction. The current road is 18’-20’ wide with a 1’-3’ shoulders. The new road will be 24’ wide with 8’ shoulders. This road is the main traffic route to the Brooke VRE Commuter rail lot.

A public meeting regarding this project was held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, 7:30-9:00pm, Brooke Point High School.
