What's Being Done

The entire project (recently completed Phase I and Phase II) relocates Route 208 north, incorporating Route 608 (R. E. Lee Drive) and Route 648 (Blockhouse Road) to provide a more direct east-west corridor between the Fredericksburg area and the Lake Anna region.

This project (Phase II) begins just west of the Ta River. It leaves the existing road before and ties back into existing Courthouse near Spotsylvania High School.

From there, the roadway continues east generally following Blockhouse Road to tie into the Phase I  project just east of the Po River.

New bridges will be constructed at both river crossings as part of this project.

November 3, 2010:  New Traffic Pattern - All traffic on Lake Anna Parkway will be switched to temporary travel lanes at the Route 208 intersection.  As construction continues.
