About the Project
This project will replace the structurally-deficient Denbigh Boulevard Bridge over I-64 and CSX Railway between Warwick Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue in Newport News with a new bridge that meets current geometric and design standards. Funding for the project is included in the FY2013-2018 Six-Year Improvement Plan.

Whitman, Requardt and Associates, LLP, was recently selected as the design consultant, and the design contract negotiations will soon begin. Notice to proceed is expected to be issued to the design consultant in summer 2013, with plans for a Design Public Hearing in the summer of 2014, and right-of-way acquisition subsequently beginning in spring 2015.
