About the Project
The new 1.5 mile off-road, multi-use path will begin in front of the James City County Library along Route 607 towards Richmond Road. It will cross-over the railroad bridge and intersect with Richmond Road (Route 60). Two alternatives are considered at this juncture:
- Remain on the eastern quadrant along Richmond Road and tie into existing sidewalk
- Cross the street at the intersection of Croaker Road and Richmond road and tie into the existing sidewalk
Both alternatives terminate at Old Church Road.
Considerations are also being made for the type of structure that will pass over the railroad:
- Paved shoulders
- At-grade crossing
- Separate free-standing 18' bridge that is separated 25' from existing structure.
