Project Details
Crews will mill the existing bridge deck and repave the deck with a latex-modified concrete overlay on the westbound lanes of the Interstate 64 High Rise Bridge. The latex-based material prevents excessive water from seeping into the roadway, which through expansion and contraction during hot and cold temperatures, can cause potholes or pooling. Motorists can expect full weekend closures and weeknight, alternating lane closures.
Current Status: This project has been delayed until spring 2014. Due to conflicting closures at water crossings this project was postponed to a time when the region could accommodate the work with the least amount of impacts to the motoring public.
The eastbound lanes were completed ahead of schedule, in April 2012.
