About the Project
The Hampton Roads District is in the process of resurfacing various interstate and primary roads in James City County. These projects are necessary to repair and maintain sections of the existing asphalt road surface so they will continue to be navigable by the motoring public for personal and commercial use. Roadways to be treated include multi-lane divided and rural interstate and primary routes. All work will be performed within the existing right of way.
Impact to the public will be minimal. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. Access along the project corridor will be maintained during the paving operations.
UPDATE
Primary routes have been completed, interstate roadway resurfacing will begin in spring 2012.
