What is being done

Crews are performing concrete repairs, deck repairs and joint resealing above and underneath the bridge surface. Crews will also be upgrading pavement markings. 

 

Traffic Impacts

Single lane closures can be in place, Sunday through Thursday, except for Federal Holidays:

Northbound
9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
8 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Southbound
8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
6 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Crews will be working both above and below the bridge deck.  There will be times when lane closures will be installed per work zone safety regulations but motorists will not visually see workers because they will be suspended below the bridge deck making repairs.

Alternate Route

Motorists are encouraged to use the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel (MMMBT) as an alternate route during construction.
