What's Being Done

Traffic signals will be installed at six locations in the City of Lynchburg/Campbell County area of the Lynchburg District.

Benefits

These signals will allow motorists to safely enter and exit various roadways.

Features

The signals will be installed at the following locations:
Campbell County:
- Intersection of Route 29 and Airport Road
- Intersection of Route 460 Business and Route 623 (Turkey Foot Road)
- Intersection of Route 501 and Route 671
- Intersection of Route 460 Business and Route 789
- Intersection of Route 460 Business, Route 829 (Grove Sreet) and Route 1505 (Farfield Drive)
City of Lynchburg:
- Intersection of Route 460 westbound off ramp and Route 501 (Campbell Avenue)

Impact on Traffic

Minor traffic impacts may be expected during installation.
Permanent "Traffic Signal Ahead" signs and other traffic warning signs will be installed, as appropriate, at each location. Also, "New Traffic Pattern" signs will be installed at each location and will remain in place for approximately four weeks after signal is placed in operation.
