Project at a Glance
What's Being Done
This project includes widening the Fairfax County Parkway from two lanes in each direction to three lanes in each direction for 2.8 miles from south of I-66 to Rugby Road and replacing the traffic-choked intersections at Fair Lakes Parkway and Monument Drive with interchanges. At this time funding is only available for preliminary engineering and right of way. The proposed improvements are also part of the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan, Northern Virginia 2020 Transportation Plan, and the Financially Constrained Long-Range Transportation Plan for the National Capital Region.
