About the Project

This project will construct a fourth through lane on southbound I-395 between Duke Street and Edsall Road.

Currently, there are four southbound through lanes north and south of the project corridor, but only three through lanes within the project limits. The additional lane constructed with this project will fill the gap to eliminate the bottleneck through the Landmark area.

When complete, drivers will have four continuous lanes southbound for 2.7 miles from South of Edsall Road (Route 648) to North of Duke Street (Route 236).

Cost Estimate
Preliminary engineering - $6.5 million

Currently this project is funded for design engineering only. Provision of additional project funding will be revised as the project's design, cost estimate and delivery schedule is refined.
