Benefits
I-95 will have 10 lanes between the 14th Street Bridge and the Occoquan River (four regular lanes in each direction and two reversible HOV lanes.)I-95 currently carries about 212,000 vehicles a day between Route 123 and the Fairfax County Parkway.
The additional lane will help ease the bottleneck at the Occoquan.
Impact on Traffic
During construction, motorists can expect lanes closures at night and during off-peak travel times. There will be no lane closures during rush hours.
