What's Being Done
Traffic-calming in Aldie broke ground in fall 2011 and is on schedule to be completed in December 2012. The project details are very similar to the Upperville project. Drivers approaching Aldie will be transitioned to the town speed limit with landscaping, sidewalks, and raised crosswalks and intersections in the village area.
The materials used for the sidewalks, curbs, crosswalks, and raised intersections will be chosen to complement the historic and rural nature of the community.
Project cost:
$2.2 million - preliminary engineering
$200,000 - right of way
$4.8 million - construction
