What's Being Done
The Gilbert's Corner traffic calming project includes constructing four roundabouts at the following locations:
- Route 50 and Route 15 (Gilbert's Corner)
- Route 50 and Watson Road
- Route 50 and Connector Road
- Route 15 and Connector Road
The new two-lane connector road will link Routes 50 and 15 with
roundabouts at each end, allowing northbound Route 15 traffic and westbound
Route 50 traffic to bypass Gilbert's Corner.

What are Roundabouts?
Roundabouts are considered one of the safest types of intersection. They can move traffic while reducing crashes, delays, fuel consumption and air pollution. In addition, they are less expensive to maintain than a signalized intersection.For more information on roundabouts:

Phase 3: Improve Route 50; continue Roundabout 1 (Spring 2009)
