About the Project

Rebuilding the Telegraph Road interchange at I-95/495 was the final phase of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project.

Work included three key components:

  • Widening a two-and-a-half-mile section of the Capital Beltway, extending the new THRU and LOCAL lane configuration from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
  • Building new elevated ramps connecting the Beltway to Telegraph Road, Eisenhower Avenue and related side streets.
  • Widening and other improvements to help facilitate better traffic flow along the Telegraph Road corridor and to/from the Beltway.

The project also included new and improved bridges, traffic lights, drainage systems, retaining and noise walls, walking paths, landscaping for Cameron Run and safer pedestrian access.
