The existing Lewistown Road bridge over I-95 is 14 feet, 7 inches high--below the standard height for bridges. The reconstructed bridge will be 16 feet, 5 inches high to meet current standards. In addition, the bridge will be widened to accommodate two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane. Turn lanes will be added to Lewistown Road at the I-95 intersection, truck stop and Airpark Road.

I-95 reduced speed limit in work zone
The speed limit on Interstate 95 has been reduced near the Lewistown Rd. interchange for the ongoing work zone. The speed limit has been reduced from 70 mph to 55 mph southbound and from 65 mph to 55 mph northbound.
The new ramp from I-95 north to Lewistown Rd. opened on Nov. 9, 2016. A temporary traffic signal is now in place at the intersection with Lewistown Rd.

As part of the new traffic pattern, left turns from Lewistown Road (Route 802) east to I-95 north and from I-95 south to Lewistown Road east are restricted. Drivers should follow the posted detours through July 2017.
