The purpose of this recently completed project was to provide safety and capacity improvements for vehicular and pedestrian traffic along the Jefferson Davis Highway corridor in Chesterfield County. For the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and Woods Edge Road (Route 620), recently completed improvements include new turn lanes, upgraded traffic signals and new pedestrian accommodations. For the intersection Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and Happy Hill Road (Route 619), improvements include a new traffic signal, pedestrian accommodations and Happy Hill Road is now realigned at the intersection. 

Benefits 

The project accommodates vehicles coming from Happy Hill Road (Route 619) to Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and increases safety and capacity at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and Woods Edge Road (Route 620). Work was completed in January 2020.
