The purpose of this project is to provide safety and capacity improvements for vehicular and pedestrian traffic along the Jefferson Davis Highway corridor in Chesterfield County. For the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and Woods Edge Road (Route 620), the proposed improvements include adding turn lanes, upgrading existing traffic signals and adding pedestrian accommodations. For the intersection Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and Happy Hill Road (Route 619), the proposed improvements include a new traffic signal, pedestrian accommodations and realigning Happy Hill Road at the intersection. There will be lane closures and flaggers directing traffic during construction.     

Benefits 

The project will accommodate vehicles coming from Happy Hill Road (Route 619) to Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and will increase safety and capacity at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1) and Woods Edge Road (Route 620).
