What areas will be repaired?

The contractor began repairing deteriorated sections of pavement along Route 288 south between the Powhite Parkway (Route 76) interchange and the I-95 interchange in August 2010. This project was completed in July 2011.

A second project began in April 2011 and includes northbound lanes between the I-95 interchange and the Powhite Parkway (Route 76) interchange. This project is expected to be completed in fall 2012.

The damaged sections will be repaired and removed (as needed) then replaced with new concrete.

Traffic impacts

Expect overnight lane closures weeknights between 7 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.

Route 288 traffic count = approximately 45,000 vehicles per day
