Traffic Alert

The ramp from Temple Avenue (Route 144) south to Oaklawn Boulevard (Route 36) west will remain closed through early April 2012 for drainage work. Drivers will continue on Temple Avenue to access Oaklawn Boulevard westbound.

Project Details

The project involves the relocation of an existing left turn at the Route 36 (Oaklawn Boulevard)/Route 144 (Temple Avenue) intersection and construction of a new ramp. The new ramp will allow drivers to make a double left turn from Temple Avenue onto eastbound Oaklawn Boulevard. A new signal will be installed at this intersection.

In addition, a third through lane will be constructed on eastbound Oaklawn Boulevard between Temple Avenue and Route 630 (Jefferson Park Road). A divided right turn lane onto Jefferson Park Road will be constructed at this intersection as well.

Traffic Impacts

On Route 36 eastbound, two lanes of traffic must be maintained between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. On Route 36 westbound, two lanes of traffic must be maintained between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. These restrictions are based on traffic usage along that corridor. There are no planned weekend lane closures.
