What's Being Done

The proposed project involves realigning two hazardous curves and adjusting intersections along Mill Quarter Road. The pavement is to be widened from 18 feet to 24 feet. The shoulders and ditches are to be improved to 8 feet and 6 feet, respectively. Drainage will be improved with the replacement of cross-pipes and entrance pipes.

A design public hearing was held on Sept. 26, 2007.

Benefits

After realigning the two hazardous curves, road safety should be improved, resulting in reduced accidents in this area.

Impact on Traffic

The existing two lanes of travel will be available during construction. There will be some flagging operations in key locations that will reduce the lanes temporarily to one lane during off-peak hours. No construction is anticipated during nighttime hours.
