What's being done?
The purpose of this project is to improve the intersection of Riverland Road/Mount Pleasant Boulevard and Bennington Street by replacing the existing intersection with a roundabout. Additional improvements will consist of widening the existing road from the intersection of Garden City Boulevard to 0.1 mile east of the intersection with Bennington Street.
Project updates
The Western Virginia Water Authority currently has a contractor relocating existing water lines on the project.
The project will be advertised in November of 2011. Construction on the roadway should begin in late February or early March of 2012.
A public hearing was held on this project on March 31, 2009.
