Route 114 Widening - Christiansburg
Project at a Glance
What's Being Done?
This project will widen one mile of Route 114 (Peppers Ferry Road) at New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg from two to four lanes with turn lanes and improve access management by installing a raised median.
The project also will include relocating the signal at the mall entrance and building a new Huckleberry Trail bridge over Route 114.
The intersection of Stafford Drive and Peppers Ferry Road will be closed from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. A new traffic pattern will be in place on Peppers Ferry Road from east of Walnut drive to the BP gas station. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to one of the westbound lanes reducing the two westbound lanes to one.
Flaggers may control traffic at times for utility operations taking place on Route 114 (Peppers Ferry Road) near the New River Valley Mall. Trucks will be entering and exiting the road in this area. Occasional flagging operations will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekdays.
Bradley Street at Pepper Ferry Road will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 6, for the installation of a storm sewer pipe across Bradley Street.
The closure is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. and last until 5:50 p.m.
Access to Wal-Mart can be achieved via Marshall Drive or Route 460 business.
