What is being proposed?
The primary purpose of this project is to enhance the safety in the vicinity of the intersection located at Route 221 (Forest Road) and Route 668 (Goode Station Road) by providing turn lanes and modifying commercial property access using Virginia's Access Management Regulations and Standards. These improvements are intended to reduce the severity and number of accidents in this section of Route 221.
The improvements will include installing curbs and gutters, adding two left turn lanes on Route 221, modifying the right turn lane on Route 221 south, consolidating access points along Route 221 and constructing a raised median.
What is the latest in project development?
A design public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Goode Volunteer Rescue Squad, 9261 Forest Road in Goode.
The public comment period ends on March 22, 2013.
