Town of Woodstock

Welcome to VDOT's "Woodstock 2020 Transportation Plan" web site. The recently completed Woodstock 2020 Transportation Plan was conducted to provide long term needs assessment for the Town's thoroughfare highway system. corporate limits of the Town
  • Route 42 (Reservoir Road) from the west corporate limits to Route 11
    (Main Street)
  • Interstate 81 from the south corporate limits to the west corporate
    limits of the town
  • Lakeview Drive from Route 11 (Main Street) to the east corporate limits
  • Spring Street from the west corporate limits to Route 11 (Main Street)
  • North Street from the west corporate limits to Route 11 (Main Street)
  • Mill Road from Route 11 (Main Street) to the east corporate limits
  • Church Street from Spring Street to Hughes Street
  • Commerce Street from Massanutten Heights to Spring Street
  • Hollingsworth Street from Water Street to Lupton Road

  • Summit Avenue from Spring Street to North Street
  • Water Street from Route 42 (Reservoir Road) to Mill Road
  • East Reservoir Road from the east corporate limits to Route 11
    (Main Street)

Data collected for the study of the town included:

  • traffic counts conducted in October '98
  • accident report information from 1996 through 1998
  • VDOT database of roadway geometric conditions (dimensions)
  • review of tourism and goods movement issues in the town

The above information was analyzed to identify Woodstock's 2020 transportation needs based upon highway capacity, geometry, and safety as well as other concerns that may be raised by local officials and citizens. A public meeting was held on October 14, 1999 at the Woodstock Armory by the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Town of Woodstock. The purpose of the meeting was to present the draft recommendations included in the Woodstock 2020 Transportation Plan and to allow Woodstock citizens to comment on the plan. The Woodstock 2020 Transportation Plan was approved by the Woodstock Town Council on February 1, 2000.
