Project Details

This project will widen the roadway and pave the shoulders on Route 971 (Lipscomb Road) in the South River area of Augusta County.  The 1.54-mile long project extends from: Route 970 to Route 624.

All work will be completed within the existing right-of way.  

The total estimated cost for this project is $305,954, which includes $5,000 for preliminary engineering and $300,954 for construction.

Benefits of Project

Safety of the traveling public will increase with a wider road, allowing for easier passage of opposing vehicles and also paved shoulders for emergency stopping.

During Construction

Motorists should be alert for work zones with possible road closures and flagging operations.
