Project Details
This project will widen Route 340 to four lanes with sidewalk curb and gutter between Main Street and the CSTX railroad and CSTX railroad and “B” Street. It is Phase II and III of an original design to upgrade the roadway between two existing four lane facilities. Phase I of the original project was constructed in 2009 and included replacing a narrow railroad bridge and improving the adjacent roadway to a four lane facility.
Phase I of the project also included purchasing the right of way required for the remaining phases.
Phase II includes upgrading the existing facility from a two to four lanes with a center turn lane between Main Street and the previously constructed Phase I project at the CSTX Railroad. Phase III will upgrade the existing facility to a four lane facility from the CSTX Rail Road to “B” Street. The proposed four lane facility will have four 11-foot lanes, a 13 foot center turn-lane, and five-foot sidewalks on both sides of the road.
